A tragic triple shooting in Beaumont’s South Park neighborhood has left one teenager dead and two others injured, according to local authorities.

Police identified the deceased victim as 17-year-old Arin Antwine. The shooting occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the 4300 block of Ogden Avenue near Woodrow. Officers responding to reports of gunfire discovered three teenage victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the backyard of a residence.

Emergency crews with Beaumont EMS transported all three victims to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, Arin Antwine later died from his injuries. The other two victims, both 15-year-old boys, survived and are currently being treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Authorities said the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under active investigation. Police have not yet released information regarding potential suspects or a possible motive.

The incident has heightened concerns within the Beaumont community, as it marks the city’s second homicide since Monday following another recent deadly shooting near an apartment complex on West Virginia Street.

Beaumont Police Sgt. Haley Morrow described the shooting as another example of senseless violence affecting young people and families throughout the community.

“It’s another example of senseless violence that doesn’t have to happen,” Morrow said. “It’s time to have tough conversations with kids. There’s almost always some kind of indicator that children are headed down the wrong path.”

District Chief Scott Wheat confirmed that emergency responders arrived quickly and provided immediate medical assistance before transporting the victims to the hospital.

Investigators with the Beaumont Police Department are continuing to work alongside the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force as they review evidence and follow leads connected to the shooting.
