Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified Walker-Thomas as the victim and stated that the injury she suffered was “inconsistent with life.” The heartbreaking incident has left family members, friends, and residents grieving the sudden loss of a woman remembered as deeply loved by those who knew her.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North Hightower Street at approximately 10:12 p.m. after receiving a hang-up 911 call. While responding, officers were informed of a disturbance taking place at the residence.

Emergency responders immediately provided medical assistance before transporting her to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in critical condition. Investigators later identified Keonta J. Williams as the suspect in the case. He was arrested on June 3 and booked into the Peoria County Jail, where he now faces a charge of first-degree murder.
