The communities of Hartville and North Canton are mourning the loss of Louis A. Dimondo II, 42, who died after a motorcycle accident on State Route 43 north of Hartville, Ohio, on Saturday evening.

According to information released by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, Dimondo was identified as the motorcyclist involved in the crash. He was transported from the scene to Summa Health Akron, where he was later pronounced dead at 9:36 p.m.

Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly before 9 p.m. on May 30 after receiving reports of a serious motorcycle accident along State Route 43 between Andrews Street Northeast and Manning Road. Responding deputies found Dimondo suffering from critical injuries and immediately began emergency response efforts before he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Preliminary findings from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office indicate that Dimondo was traveling southbound when his motorcycle crossed the center line while approaching a curve in the roadway. Investigators believe he was unable to safely navigate the turn, causing the motorcycle to leave the road. Officials confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
